About Duplios

Why Duplios exists

National systems — electricity, water, employment, crime, municipal finance, health, education — are debated with a mix of official statistics, partial datasets, anecdotes and model outputs. Provenance is often unclear. Missing data is treated as zero. Uncertainty disappears behind a single headline number.

Duplios exists to help institutions understand complex national systems through transparent evidence, reproducible analysis and honest uncertainty. Researchers, journalists, municipalities, universities and policy teams need a workspace where every claim can be traced to a dataset version, a declared formula, or an explicit gap — not to an invented figure.

Mission

Make evidence, uncertainty and missing data visible so that better-informed decisions are possible — never by fabricating statistics or smoothing over gaps.

Vision

A transparent national decision-intelligence layer where rankings, scores and simulations are versioned, inspectable and auditable. Users can see what is known, what is stale, what conflicts and what cannot yet be estimated from public inputs.

Principles

• Evidence first. Observations carry source, classification, period, geography, unit and retrieval time.
• Gaps are visible. Missing inputs and unavailable outputs are shown explicitly — not imputed silently.
• Version everything. Formulas, models, dataset versions and methodology documents carry stable identifiers.
• Deterministic where declared. Rankings and scores follow published rules, not opaque optimisation.
• Humans decide. Structured decision support informs judgement; it does not replace it.
• Honest scope. Preview capabilities and limitations are stated plainly — no implied national coverage where feeds are not connected.

What Duplios is not

• Not a government. Duplios is not an official government platform and does not speak on behalf of the state.
• Not a replacement for elected representatives. Democratic accountability, public mandate and institutional authority remain with humans and their offices.
• Not a binding decision-maker. Outputs do not constitute policy, regulation or executive orders.
• Not neutral by automation alone. Algorithms encode choices. Duplios documents those choices; it does not claim political neutrality merely because a model ran.
• Not an AI that invents national statistics or fills gaps with plausible numbers
• Not a black-box recommendation engine — AI Cabinet remains out of scope in this preview
• Not a complete digital twin of every national system — coverage follows connected public data

Humans remain accountable

Duplios provides structured decision support: ranked issues, evidence breakdowns, missing-data registers, versioned simulations and audit trails. Interpretation, prioritisation, trade-offs and final action belong to people who can explain and defend their choices.

Human judgement is essential. The platform makes evidence and limits easier to see; it does not remove responsibility from officials, researchers, journalists or anyone who cites its outputs.

Independence and political neutrality

Duplios is developed independently. This site does not claim government endorsement, partnership status or procurement relationships unless explicitly documented elsewhere with evidence.

Political neutrality here means presenting methods, classifications and limitations without advocating for a party or candidate — not pretending that data selection, issue framing and model design are value-free. Users should read methodology and data-policy pages and challenge assumptions through contact and evidence-challenge channels.

Current prototype status

The public preview is invite-only, runs on shared hosting with SQLite, and reflects Phase 2 capabilities: eight national Situation Room issues plus a correctional programme drill-down, evidence score evidence_score_v1.0.0, a seeded Knowledge Graph, Missing Data Board, Policy Lab wizard, correctional simulation correctional_v1.0.0, and audit event listing.

Many national indicator series — including electricity, crime, labour and water in several issue maps — are not yet connected to live public feeds. Where inputs or formulas are absent, the interface shows the exact unavailable sentence rather than invented figures. Demonstration and fixture-backed data are labelled and excluded from national scoring where the methodology requires it.
